<- 1994, IEGM, L.V. Zvereva, SP2. Isolated from: oil-polluted water, distillery area, Perm region, Russia. Taxonomy/description: shows positive result with Rhodococcus erythropolis primers in species-specific PCR; 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis. Properties: uses n-hexadecane and butanol as a sole carbon source; resistant to Pb2+ (20.0 mM), Cr6+ (10.0 mM), Cu2+ (5.0 mM). (Medium 2 or 8, 28oC).
