<- 1994, L.V. Zvereva, P9420-3. Isolated from: loam, 1.5 m from oil-collecting pit, Polazna oil-extracting enterprise, Perm region, Russia. Taxonomy/description: shows positive result with Rhodococcus erythropolis primers in species-specific PCR. Properties: uses hydrocarbons and crude oil as a sole carbon source; transforms thioanisole (257); resistant to Pb2+ (20.0 mM), Cr6+ (10.0 mM), Cu2+, Mo6+, Zn2+ (5.0 mM). (Medium 2 or 8, 28oC).
