Taxonomy/description: demonstrates the reaction of complete identity with polyclonal antiserum against Rhodococcus erythropolis IEGM 7T (3); shows positive result with Rhodococcus erythropolis primers in species-specific PCR (245). Properties: uses hydrocarbons as a sole carbon source; resistant to Mo6+ (20.0 mM), Cr6+ (10.0 mM), Cu2+ (5.0 mM). (Medium 2 or 8, 28oC).
