<- 1980, I.B. Ivshina, IEGM, IMV 305k <- O.A. Nesterenko, UCM, IMV 305 (‘Rhodococcus longus’). Isolated from: oil-polluted soil, oilfield, Poltava region, Ukraine. Taxonomy/description: 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis (GenBank accession number MG912558). Properties: uses n-hexadecane, xylene, glycerol, naphthalene, propanol, toluene, phenol, and ethanol as a sole carbon source; resistant to Pb2+ (5.0 mM). (Medium 2 or 8, 28oC).
