<- 1995, N. Christofi, Napier Univ., Edinburgh, UK, NCIMB 11273 (Rhodococcus rhodochrous). Isolated from: soil, Leicester, England. Taxonomy/description: shows positive result with Rhodococcus ruber primers in species-specific PCR; demonstrates the reaction of complete identity with polyclonal antiserum against Rhodococcus ruber IEGM 70^T. Properties: produces L-serine (3.0 mg/ml) in presence of magnesium phosphate (157); uses propane and n-butane as a sole carbon source; resistant to Pb²⁺ (5.0 mM). (Medium 5, 28^oC).
