<- 1995, NCIMB 9741 (Rhodococcus sp.). Isolated from: soil, Belarus. Taxonomy/description: shows positive result with Rhodococcus ruber primers in species-specific PCR; demonstrates the reaction of complete identity with polyclonal antiserum against Rhodococcus ruber IEGM 70T. Properties: uses propane, n-butane and liquid n-alkanes (C11-C16) as a sole carbon source; resistant to Pb2+ (5.0 mM). (Medium 5 or 8, 28oC).
