Taxonomy/description: 16S rRNA gene (X83810, X91032); genome sequence (CP001643) (7, 19, 56, 67, 75, 78, 79, 226, 227, 398, 399). Properties: produces acid from cellobiose but not from sucrose; decomposes uric acid but not urea; reduced nitrate to nitrite; and does not hydrolyze arginine or hippurate (56). (Medium 2, 28oC).
