Isolated from: soil, filling station area, Perm region, Russia.Taxonomy/description: shows positive result with Rhodococcus erythropolis primers in species-specific PCR (245); transforms β-sitosterol (263). Properties: uses hydrocarbons as a sole carbon source; transforms β-sitosterol; resistant to Cr6+ (10.0 mM), Mo6+, Pb2+ (5.0 mM). (Medium 2 or 8, 28oC).
