<- 1989, I.B. Ivshina, IEGM, À.S. Samsonova, INMIB (now BIM), DSS-31. Received as Rhodococcus erythropolis. Isolated from: soil, lavsan polyethereal fibre production, Open Joint-Stock Company "Mogilevkhimvolokno", Mogilev, Belarus. Taxonomy/description: 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis (GenBank accession number MG645197). Properties: uses n-hexadecane and crude oil as a sole carbon source; destructor of phthalic acid esters; resistant to Zn2+ (20.0 mM), Mo6+ (10.0 mM), Cr6+, Pb2+ (5.0 mM). (Medium 2 or 8, 28oC).
