<- 1978, I.B. Ivshina, OEGM 182. Isolated from: water, lake, Kurgan region, Russia. Taxonomy/description: shows positive result with Rhodococcus ruber primers in species-specific PCR (245). Properties: uses propane, n-butane and liquid n-alkanes (C5-C16) as a sole carbon source; resistant to Pb2+ (5.0 mM). (Medium 2, 5 or 8, 28oC).
