<- 1988, I.B. Ivshina, 29-1B-3. Isolated from: water, spring, Olkhovski oil-extracting enterprise, Perm region, Russia. Taxonomy/description: (55, 95, 96, 97, 245). Demonstrates the reaction of complete identity with polyclonal antiserum against Rhodococcus erythropolis IEGM 7T(96); shows positive result with Rhodococcus erythropolis primers in species-specific PCR (245). Properties: uses hydrocarbons as a sole carbon source; produces biosurfactants when growing on n-alkanes (C12-C17) (74); degrades paracetamol (265); resistant to Cr6+, Pb2+ (5.0 mM), VO2+ (12.5 mM), VO43- (50.0 mM), VO3- (>250.0 mM) (286). (Medium 2, 8 or 11, 28oC).
