Demonstrates the reaction of complete identity with polyclonal antiserum against Rhodococcus erythropolis IEGM 7T(96); shows positive result with Rhodococcus erythropolis primers in species-specific PCR (245). Properties: uses hydrocarbons as a sole carbon source; produces biosurfactants when growing on n-alkanes (C12-C17) (74); degrades paracetamol (265); exhibits lysozyme activity (272); resistant to Pb2+ (10.0 mM), Cr6+, Cu2+ (5.0 mM). (Medium 2, 8 or 11, 28oC).
