<- 1980, I.B. Ivshina, VKM B-462 <- O.A. Nesterenko, VKM B-462. Isolated from: Borislavskoe ozokerit deposit, Ukraine. Taxonomy/description: (4, 48, 54, 57, 245). Demonstrates the reaction of complete identity with polyclonal antiserum against Rhodococcus erythropolis IEGM 7T(4); shows positive result with Rhodococcus erythropolis primers in species-specific PCR (245). Properties: uses normal hydrocarbons, aliphatic alcohols (ethanol, octan-1-ol, propan-1-ol, propan-2-ol) and aromatic hydrocarbons (methylbenzene, naphthalene, oxybenzene) as a sole carbon source; resistant to Mo6+ (20.0 mM), Cr6+ (10.0 mM), Cu2+, Ni2+, Pb2+, Zn2+ (5.0 mM). (Medium 2, 8, 15, 16 or 17, 28oC).
