<- 1980, I.B. Ivshina, IMV 564 <- O.A. Nesterenko, 564. Isolated from: oil-polluted soil, Ukraine. Taxonomy/description: (4, 5, 245). Demonstrates the reaction of complete identity with polyclonal antiserum against Rhodococcus erythropolis IEGM 7T(4); shows positive result with Rhodococcus erythropolis primers in species-specific PCR (245). Properties: uses normal hydrocarbons, aliphatic alcohols (butan-2-ol, ethanol, propan-1-ol, propan-2-ol), aromatic hydrocarbons (methylbenzene, oxybenzene) and phenylacetic acid as a sole carbon source; resistant to Cr6+, Cu2+ (15.0 mM), Mo6+ (7.5 mM), Pb2+ (5.0 mM), VO43- (50.0 mM), VO3- (>250.0 mM), accumulates molybdenum (286). (Medium 2, 8, 15 or 16, 28oC).
