<- 1980, I.B. Ivshina, IMV 70 <- O.A. Nesterenko, 70. Taxonomy/description: (4, 5, 245). Demonstrates the reaction of complete identity with polyclonal antiserum against Rhodococcus erythropolis IEGM 7T (4); shows positive result with Rhodococcus erythropolis primers in species-specific PCR (245). Properties: uses normal hydrocarbons, aliphatic alcohols (butan-1-ol, butan-2-ol, ethanol, hexan-1-ol, octan-1-ol, propan-1-ol, propan-2-ol, propan-1,2,3-triol), aromatic hydrocarbons (naphthalene, oxybenzene, xylol) and phenylacetic acid as a sole carbon source; resistant to Pb2+ (10.0 mM), Cr6+ (5.0 mM). (Medium 2, 8, 15, 16, 17 or 18, 28oC).
