<- 1988, T.N. Kamenskikh, P8 16-2. Isolated from: oil-polluted soil, oil-extracting enterprise, Perm region, Russia. Taxonomy/description: shows positive result with Rhodococcus erythropolis primers in species-specific PCR (245). Properties: uses hydrocarbons and crude oil as a sole carbon source; adheres to liquid hydrocarbons (n-hexadecane) (320); resistant to Pb2+ (5.0 mM). (Medium 2 or 8, 28oC).
