Taxonomy/description: demonstrates the reaction of complete identity with polyclonal antiserum against Rhodococcus erythropolis IEGM 7T (4). Properties: uses normal hydrocarbons, aliphatic alcohols (ethanol) and aromatic hydrocarbons (oxybenzene) as a sole carbon source; resistant to Mo6+ (20.0 mM), Cr6+, Cu2+, Ni2+ (5.0 mM). (Medium 2, 8, 15 or 16, 28oC).
