Rhodococcus ruber (Kruse 1896) Goodfellow and Alderson 1977

<- 2011, L.V. Kostina, IEGM, NT1-3. Isolated from: rhizosphere, soil, Pokrovskoye village, Sverdlovsk region, Russia. Morphology: colonies of yellow color. Taxonomy/description: shows positive result with Rhodococcus ruber primers in species-specific PCR. Properties: uses propane, n-butane, n-dodecane, butanol, and xylene as a sole carbon source; resistant to Pb2+, Zn2+ (5.0 mM). (Medium 5, 8, 11 or 15, 28oC).
