<- 1989, L.V. Zvereva Ba-4. Isolated from: water, the Baykal lake, Irkutsk region, Russia. Taxonomy/description: 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis (GenBank accession number MG607383). Properties: uses propane and n-butane as a sole carbon source; produces biosurfactants when growing on n-alkanes (C12-C17) (74); exhibits lysozyme activity (272); resistant to Pb2+ (5.0 mM). (Medium 2, 5, 8 or 11, 28oC).
