<- 1975, I.B. Ivshina, IEGM, OEGM, 450. Isolated from: ground water, oilfield outline zone, Perm region, Russia. Taxonomy/description: shows positive result with Rhodococcus ruber primers in species-specific PCR. Properties: uses propane, n-pentane, n-dodecane, n-hexadecane, and crude oil as a sole carbon source; resistant to Pb2+ (5.0 mM). (Medium 2, 5, 8 or 11, 28oC).
