<- 1989, I.B. Ivshina, 780. Isolated from: snow, oilfield, Perm region, Russia. Taxonomy/description: shows positive result with Rhodococcus ruber primers in species-specific PCR. Properties: uses propane, n-hexadecane and butanol as a sole carbon source; degrades diesel fuel; resistant to Cu2+, Pb2+ (5.0 mM) and resistant to high concentrations (up to 42 vol.%) of diesel fuel. (Medium 2, 5, 8 or 11, 28oC).
