<- 1984, I.B. Ivshina, OEGM T-52v. Isolated from: surface water reservoir, the Taimir peninsula, Krasnoyarsk region, Russia. Taxonomy/description: (55, 230); 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis (GenBank accession number MG645196). Properties: uses propane and n-butane as a sole carbon source; degrades o-phthalic acid esters; resistant to lincomycin, methicillin, oxacillin, polymyxin, cephalexin and nalidixic acid when growing on propane and n-hexadecane (230, 246); accumulates caesium ions (251); transforms β-sitosterol (263, 277); resistant to Pb2+ (20.0 mM), Cd2+, Cr6+, Cu2+, Mo6+ (5.0 mM). (Medium 5 or 10, 28oC).
