<- 1980, I.B. Ivshina, IMV 618 <- O.A. Nesterenko, 618. Isolated from: oil-polluted soil, Ukraine. Taxonomy/description: demonstrates the reaction of complete identity with polyclonal antiserum against Rhodococcus erythropolis IEGM 7T (3); 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis (GenBank accession number MG637009). Properties: uses normal hydrocarbons, aliphatic alcohols (butan-1-ol, butan-2-ol, ethanol, octan-1-ol, propan-1-ol), aromatic hydrocarbons (oxybenzene) and phenylacetic acid as a sole carbon source; transforms β-sitosterol (263); resistant to Mo6+ (20.0 mM), Ni2+ (10.0 mM). (Medium 2, 8, 15 or 16, 28oC).
