<- 1987, M.V. Berdichevskaya, 12AF. Isolated from: oil-polluted bottom sediments, the Ostjatski Zhivets river, Tyumen region, Russia. Taxonomy/description: (92). Properties: uses normal hydrocarbons, aliphatic alcohols (ethanol, hexan-1-ol, propan-1,2,3-triol) and aromatic hydrocarbons (oxybenzene, xylol) as a sole carbon source; resistant to Pb2+ (20.0 mM). (Medium 2, 6, 8, 15, 16 or 18, 28oC).
