<- 1987, M.V. Berdichevskaya, 41DAF. Isolated from: oil-polluted bottom sediments, Bezjimyannoe lake, Tyumen region, Russia. Taxonomy/description: (92). Properties: uses normal hydrocarbons, aliphatic alcohols (ethanol) and aromatic hydrocarbons (oxybenzene) as a sole carbon source; forms cholesterol oxidase; resistant to Pb2+ (20.0 mM), Cd2+, Cu2+, Zn2+ (5.0 mM). (Medium 2, 6, 8, 15 or 16, 28oC).
