<- 1980, I.B. Ivshina, IMV 429 <- O.A. Nesterenko, 429. Isolated from: oil-polluted soil, Ukraine. Taxonomy/description: demonstrates the reaction of complete identity with polyclonal antiserum against Rhodococcus erythropolis IEGM 7T(4). Properties: uses normal hydrocarbons, aliphatic alcohols (ethanol, propan-1,2,3-triol) and aromatic hydrocarbons (naphthalene, oxybenzene) as a sole carbon source; resistant to Pb2+ (20.0 mM), Cr6+, Zn2+ (10.0 mM), Cd2+, Cu2+, Ni2+ (5.0 mM). (Medium 2, 8, 15, 16 or 17, 28oC).
