Taxonomy/description: demonstrates the reaction of complete identity with polyclonal antiserum against Rhodococcus erythropolis IEGM 7^T(4); 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis. Properties: uses normal hydrocarbons, aliphatic alcohols (butan-2-ol, ethanol, hexan-1-ol, octan-1-ol, pentan-1-ol, propan-1-ol), aromatic hydrocarbons (methylbenzene, oxybenzene) and phenylacetic acid as a sole carbon source; resistant to Pb²⁺ (10.0 mM), Cr⁶⁺, Cu²⁺ (5.0 mM). (Medium 2, 8, 15 or 16, 28^oC).
