Demonstrates the reaction of complete identity with polyclonal antiserum against Rhodococcus erythropolis IEGM 7^T(96). Properties: uses normal and aromatic hydrocarbons (naphthalene, oxybenzene, technical xylol) as a sole carbon source; degrades aromatic acids (m-oxybenzoic, p-oxybenzoic) (92); resistant to Mo⁶⁺ (20.0 mM), Cr⁶⁺, Cu²⁺ (5.0 mM). (Medium 2, 8, 16, 17 or 18, 28^oC).
