<- 1988, I.B. Ivshina, OEGM, 30-1 (‘Rhodococcus longus’ Nesterenko 1982). Isolated from: soil, Polasna oil-extracting enterprise, Perm region, Russia. Taxonomy/description: 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis (GenBank accession number MG912561). Properties: produces biosurfactants when growing on n-alkanes (C10-C16) (235); adheres to liquid hydrocarbons (n-hexadecane) (320); resistant to VO2+ (12.5 mM), VO43- (100.0 mM), VO3- (>250.0 mM). (Medium 2, 5 or 8, 28oC).
