<- 1986, I.B. Ivshina, OEGM B-350. Isolated from: sand rock, Gomel region, Belarus. Taxonomy/description: shows positive result with Rhodococcus ruber primers in species-specific PCR (245); (55, 97). Properties: uses propane, n-butane and liquid n-alkanes (C5-C16) as a sole carbon source; adheres to solid surfaces (323); adheres to liquid hydrocarbons (n-hexadecane) (323); resistant to Pb2+ (5.0 mM). (Medium 2, 5 or 8, 28oC).
