<- 1988, I.B. Ivshina, OEGM, 17-1. Received as: Rhodococcus longus Nesterenko 1985. Isolated from: soil, Polasna oil-extracting enterprise, Perm region, Russia. Properties: (74, 96, 97, 251, 257, 263, 277). Uses hydrocarbons as a sole carbon source; produces biosurfactants when growing on n-alkanes (C10-C16) (45, 55); resistant to n-decane, toluene, 1-butanol (349); resistant to VO2+ (25.0 mM), VO43- (50.0 mM), VO3- (100.0 mM). (Medium 2, 5 or 8, 28oC).
