Taxonomy/description: demonstrates the reaction of complete identity with polyclonal antiserum against Rhodococcus erythropolis IEGM 7T(4); shows positive result with Rhodococcus erythropolis primers in species-specific PCR (245). Properties: uses normal hydrocarbons, aliphatic alcohols (ethanol, octan-1-ol, propan-1-ol, propan-2-ol) and aromatic hydrocarbons (oxybenzene) as a sole carbon source; resistant to Cr6+, Mo6+ (10.0 mM). (Medium 2, 8, 15 or 16, 28oC).
