<- 1980, I.B. Ivshina, IMV 149 <- O.A. Nesterenko, 149. Isolated from: soil contaminated with oil products, Ukraine. Taxonomy/description: (4, 5, 245). Demonstrates the reaction of complete identity with polyclonal antiserum against Rhodococcus erythropolis IEGM 7T(4); shows positive result with Rhodococcus erythropolis primers in species-specific PCR (245). Properties: uses normal hydrocarbons, aliphatic alcohols (butan-1-ol, butan-2-ol, ethanol, propan-1-ol), aromatic hydrocarbons (oxybenzene) and phenylacetic acid as a sole carbon source; resistant to Mo6+ (20.0 mM), Cr6+ (10.0 mM), Cu2+, Zn2+ (5.0 mM). (Medium 2, 8, 15 or 16, 28oC).
