<- 1980, I.B. Ivshina, IMV 252 <- O.A. Nesterenko, 252. Isolated from: oil-polluted soil, Ukraine. Taxonomy/description: (4, 5, 245). Demonstrates the reaction of complete identity with polyclonal antiserum against Rhodococcus erythropolis IEGM 7T(4); shows positive result with Rhodococcus erythropolis primers in species-specific PCR (245). Properties: uses normal hydrocarbons, aliphatic alcohols (butan-1-ol, butan-2-ol, ethanol, propan-1-ol) and aromatic hydrocarbons (oxybenzene) as a sole carbon source; resistant to Mo6+ (20.0 mM), Cu2+ (5.0 mM). (Medium 2, 8, 15 or 16, 28oC).
