<- 1986, M.V. Berdichevskaya, BK4M. Isolated from: water, Kama reservoir, Perm region, Russia. Taxonomy/description: (95, 97). Properties: uses acrylamide, acrylonitrile, acrylic acid (147, 177), normal hydrocarbons, aliphatic alcohols (ethanol, heptan-1-ol, propan-1-ol) and aromatic hydrocarbons (oxybenzene) as a sole carbon source; produces biosurfactants when growing on n-alkanes (C10-C17) (74, 235); accumulates molybdenum and nickel (286, 423); resistant to Cr6+ (15.0 mM), Pb2+ (5.0 mM), VO2+ (12.5 mM), VO43- (50.0 mM), VO3- (>250.0 mM). (Medium 2, 6, 8, 11, 15 or 16, 28oC).
