<- 1987, M.V. Berdichevskaya, 11DVM. Isolated from: oil-polluted bottom sediments, the Ostjatski Zhivets river, Tyumen region, Russia. Taxonomy/description: (92, 95). Properties: uses normal hydrocarbons, aliphatic alcohols (ethanol) and aromatic hydrocarbons (oxybenzene) as a sole carbon source; resistant to Mo6+ (20.0 mM), Pb2+ (10.0 mM), Cr6+, Cu2+ (5.0 mM). (Medium 2, 6, 8, 15 or 16, 28oC).
