<- 1988, I.B. Ivshina, 36-1B. Isolated from: water, observing hydro-geological well, Yurchukski oil-extracting enterprise, Perm region, Russia. Taxonomy/description: (55, 95, 96, 97, 245). Demonstrates the reaction of complete identity with polyclonal antiserum against Rhodococcus erythropolis IEGM 7T(96); shows positive result with Rhodococcus erythropolis primers in species-specific PCR (245). Properties: uses hydrocarbons as a sole carbon source; degrades aromatic acids (m-oxybenzoic, p-oxybenzoic); produces biosurfactants when growing on n-alkanes (C12-C17) (74); resistant to Pb2+ (20.0 mM), Cr6+ (10.0 mM), Cu2+, Zn2+ (5.0 mM). (Medium 2, 8 or 11, 28oC).
