<- 1979, M.V. Berdichevskaya, 230C-2. Isolated from: stratal water, oilfield, Perm region, Russia. Taxonomy/description: (2, 97, 245). Shows positive result with Rhodococcus erythropolis primers in species-specific PCR (245). Properties: uses normal hydrocarbons and aliphatic alcohols (butan-2-ol, ethanol, octan-1-ol) as a sole carbon source; degrades aromatic acids (m-oxybenzoic, p-oxybenzoic) (92); resistant to Mo6+ (20.0 mM), Cr6+, Zn2+ (10.0 mM), Cu2+, Pb2+ (5.0 mM). (Medium 2, 8 or 15, 28oC).
