<- 1979, M.V. Berdichevskaya, H788-4. Isolated from: stratal water, oilfield, Perm region, Russia. Taxonomy/description: (2, 47, 96, 97). Demonstrates the reaction of complete identity with polyclonal antiserum against Rhodococcus erythropolis IEGM 7T(96). Properties: uses hydrocarbons as a sole carbon source; degrades aromatic acids (m-oxybenzoic, p-oxybenzoic) (92); produces biosurfactants when growing on n-alkanes (C12-C17) (74); resistant to Cr6+, Mo6+ (20.0 mM), Ni2+, Zn2+ (10.0 mM), Cu2+, Pb2+ (5.0 mM). (Medium 2, 8 or 11, 28oC).
