<- 1979, M.V. Berdichevskaya, 124-2. Isolated from: stratal water, oilfield, Perm region, Russia. Taxonomy/description: (2, 97). Properties: uses hydrocarbons as a sole carbon source; degrades o-phthalic acid esters (dimethylterephthalate, monomethylterephthalate) and aromatic acids (m-oxybenzoic, p-oxybenzoic) (92); produces biosurfactants when growing on n-alkanes (C12-C17) (74); adheres to liquid hydrocarbons (n-hexadecane) (320); resistant to Mo6+ (20.0 mM), Cr6+, Zn2+ (10.0 mM), Cu2+, Ni2+, Pb2+ (5.0 mM). (Medium 2, 8, 11 or 14, 28oC).
