<- 1988, T.N. Kamenskikh, P8 13-1. Received as Rhodococcus erythropolis. Isolated from: oil-polluted soil, oil-extracting enterprise, Perm region, Russia. Taxonomy/description: 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis (GenBank accession number MG637020). Properties: uses hydrocarbons and crude oil as a sole carbon source (95); transforms diterpenoids (dehydroabietic acid) (247, 407); forms cholesterol oxidase; resistant to Cr6+ (5.0 mM), VO2+ (12.5 mM), VO43- (50.0 mM), VO3- (250.0 mM) (286, 329). (Medium 2 or 8, 28oC).
