<- 1987, I.B. Ivshina, OEGM GPK 225. Isolated from: soil, Polazna oil-extracting enterprise, Perm region, Russia. Taxonomy/description: demonstrates the reaction of complete identity with polyclonal antiserum against Rhodococcus ruber IEGM 70T (96); shows positive result with Rhodococcus ruber primers in species-specific PCR (245); (55, 95). Properties: uses propane and n-butane, liquid n-alkanes (C5-C7, C11-C16) and aliphatic alcohols (ethanol, n-propanol, n-butanol) as a sole carbon source (95); resistant to VO2+ (12.5 mM), VO43- (50.0 mM), VO3- (250.0 mM) (286); produces biosurfactants when growing on n-alkanes (C10-C16) (55). (Medium 2 or 5, 28oC).
