<- 1985, I.B. Ivshina, OEGM T-56v. Isolated from: surface water reservoir, the Taimir peninsula, Krasnoyarsk region, Russia. Taxonomy/description: 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis (303) (5, 22, 47, 55, 95, 303). Properties: uses propane, n-butane and n-hexadecane as a sole carbon source; degrades dimethylphthalate, dimethylterephthalate and di-(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate (95); resistant to lincomycin, methicillin, polymyxin, cephalexin and nalidixic acid when growing on propane and n-hexadecane (246); resistant to Pb2+ (10.0 mM). (Medium 2, 5, 8, 12, 13 or 14, 28oC).
