<- 1975, I.B. Ivshina, OEGM 43M. Isolated from: ground water, Masuninskoye oilfield outline zone, Perm region, Russia. Taxonomy/description: Shows positive result with Rhodococcus ruber primers in species-specific PCR (245); (5, 88, 90, 95, 97). Properties: uses propane, n-butane (95), liquid n-alkanes (C5-C16) and aliphatic alcohols (ethanol, n-propanol, n-butanol) as a sole carbon source (5); resistant to Pb2+ (5.0 mM). (Medium 5, 8 or 15, 28oC).
