<- 1984, I.B. Ivshina, OEGM T-50v. Isolated from: surface water reservoir, the Taimir peninsula, Krasnoyarsk region, Russia. Taxonomy/description: (55, 97, 230). Properties: uses propane, n-butane, liquid n-alkanes (C5-C16) and aliphatic alcohols (ethanol, n-propanol, n-butanol) as a sole carbon source; grows on medium with 10 mM cadmium, 10 mM chromium, 10 mM zinc (47); resistant to lincomycin, methicillin, oxacillin, oleandomycin, polymyxin, cephalexin and nalidixic acid when growing on propane and n-hexadecane (230, 246); resistant to Mo6+, Pb2+ (20.0 mM), Zn2+ (5.0 mM). (Medium 5, 8 or 15, 28oC).
