<- 1986, M.V. Berdichevskaya, CK5. Isolated from: water, Kama reservoir, Perm region, Russia. Taxonomy/description: (95). Properties: uses normal hydrocarbons, aliphatic alcohols (butan-1-ol, butan-2-ol, ethanol, hexan-1-ol, octan-1-ol, pentan-1-ol, propan-1-ol, propan-2-ol, propan-1,2,3-triol), aromatic hydrocarbons (naphthalene, oxybenzene, xylol) and phenylacetic acid as a sole carbon source; transforms β-sitosterol (263); resistant to Mo6+, Zn2+ (5.0 mM). (Medium 2, 6, 8, 15, 16, 17 or 18, 28oC).
