<- 1988, I.B. Ivshina, OEGM 13M-1 <- T.N. Kamenskikh, 13M-1. Isolated from: soil, Polazna oil-extracting enterprise, Perm region, Russia. Taxonomy/description: shows positive result with Rhodococcus ruber primers in species-specific PCR (245); 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis (GenBank accession number KJ442850); (95, 97). Properties: uses propane and n-butane as a sole carbon source (95); transforms β-sitosterol (263, 277); resistant to Pb2+ (5.0 mM). (Medium 2, 5, 8 or 11, 28oC).
