<- 1986, I.B. Ivshina, OEGM B-635. Isolated from: chalk rock (depth 130 m), Gomel region, Belarus. Taxonomy/description: 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis (GenBank accession number KJ442852); (95, 97). Properties: uses propane, n-butane (95) and liquid n-alkanes (C5-C16) as a sole carbon source; produces biosurfactants when growing on n-alkanes (C12-C17) (74); resistant to lincomycin, methicillin, polymyxin, cephalexin and nalidixic acid when growing on propane and n-hexadecane (230, 246); resistant to Pb2+ (10.0 mM).
