<- 1975, I.B. Ivshina, OEGM 14-P. Isolated from: ground water, Masuninskoe oilfield outline zone, Perm region, Russia. Taxonomy/description: (5, 35, 72, 88, 95, 96, 97, 245, 303). Demonstrates the reaction of complete identity with polyclonal antiserum against Rhodococcus ruber IEGM 70T (96); shows positive result with Rhodococcus ruber primers in species-specific PCR (245); 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis (303). Properties: uses propane, n-butane and n-hexadecane as a sole carbon source (95, 327); transforms thioanisole (257); resistant to Cr6+, Сu2+, Pb2+ (5.0 mM), VO2+ (12.5 mM), VO43- (100.0 mM), VO3- (>250.0 mM) (286); adheres to liquid hydrocarbons (n-hexadecane) (320); produces biosurfactants when growing on n-hexadecane (327).
