Demonstrates the reaction of complete identity with polyclonal antiserum against Rhodococcus ruber IEGM 70^T (96); shows positive result with Rhodococcus ruber primers in species-specific PCR (245); 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis (303). Properties: uses propane, n-butane and n-hexadecane as a sole carbon source (95, 327); transforms thioanisole (257); resistant to Cr⁶⁺, Сu²⁺, Pb²⁺ (5.0 mM), VO²⁺ (12.5 mM), VO₄^3- (100.0 mM), VO₃^- (>250.0 mM) (286); adheres to liquid hydrocarbons (n-hexadecane) (320); produces biosurfactants when growing on n-hexadecane (327).
