<- 1986, M.V. Berdichevskaya B21. Isolated from: oil-polluted water, Kama reservoir, Perm region, Russia. Taxonomy/description: (92,95). Properties: uses normal hydrocarbons, aliphatic alcohols (butan-1-ol, butan-2-ol, ethanol, octan-1-ol, propan-1-ol, propan-2-ol), aromatic hydrocarbons (naphthalene, oxybenzene, xylol) and acids (m-oxybenzoic, p-oxybenzoic) as a sole carbon source; produces biosurfactants when growing on n-alkanes (C12-C17) (74); resistant to Mo6+ (10.0 mM). (Medium 2, 6, 8, 11, 15, 16, 17 or 18, 28oC).
